Our summer is BETTER than yours...

We are BUSY this summer! We've done way too many fun things and I don't feel like sorting through all my pictures at the moment. Aren't you jealous? Maybe I'll post later...

Tale As Old As Time...

We have an outdoor theater by our house that does such fun plays. This month was Beauty and the Beast, how could we skip it? We made it a girls night since 4 of my girl cousins were staying with my parents for the week, and Dylan somehow got to come too. We sat on blankets and ate candy(my favorite part) It was raining, but we're brave and it wasn't too cold.

Bailee's favorite character was not Belle, or the Beast, or any of the other lovable characters. It was Gaston. The whole time she kept saying "Gaston is handsome. He is sooo handsome. He's wearing such a handsome shirt too. I like his muscles." So afterward I had to DRAG her to go see him because "He makes me feel really shy, Mom." But she was really excited that he asked her to show him her muscles and she got to take a picture with him. She likes the bad boys.

For some reason these are the only pictures I took, but it's about quality, not quantity, right? The one of my mom makes up for the ones I didn't take.

Outfit of the Day

She's going through phase. I think the princess crown really adds that extra little something special to the ensamble. She was dead set on wearing this to school the next day too. And isn't Jackson looking studly in the background in neon orange and green? He might have dressed himself too. I'm pretty sure the staff at 31 Flavors now knows that the D family can bring it.

The Drawer

There is a drawer in my kitchen that is currently full to capacity. This drawer beckons to me daily with its siren call. This drawer wants me to gain 10 pounds. This drawer is also out to get my children. It bestows upon them perpetually sticky hands and psychotic sugar rushes.
Should this drawer be destroyed? Yes. Will I be the one with the strength to do it? Only time will tell.
Notice the grabby little hand trying to sneak some while I'm distracted.

Two posts in one day is a miracle

Easter! Need I say more? I'm horrible at taking pictures- I just want to enjoy the moment. And it's impossible to get my kids to pose so I've pretty much given up.

The ward Easter party- I told you these pictures would be amazing

Easter egg coloring:

Easter mornin':

They were so cute in their church clothes, and I didn't get any GOOD pictures. Seriously, Bailee's hair was UH-mazing, I spent a half hour on it.
G-ma and G-pa's house. The quality of these pictures blows my mind

This one was just too cute. Watching tv after a long day of hunting for eggs

Card Club

A bunch of my friends from high school get together once a month for dinner(we used to make cards to exchange every month, but that was too much work, and eating is better anyway) This was the first time that I could make it in a while, but almost everyone was out of town, so it just ended up being me and two of my favorites, Mindy and Emily. It was so fun to get together and catch up. We ended up sitting at our table for about 2 hours after we finished eating. I'm pretty sure Olive Garden hates us now, but it was worth it. I can't wait for next month, it will be a miracle if make it two months in a row!

I thought we were cool

I never write about TV shows. Never. I don't care enough. This is different. If I didn't have the evidence sitting on my couch right now that there are some decent guys in the world, I would probably shoot myself. That's all I can say for now. What a jerk.

Ladies Night

Bailee has been begging me to go see the movie Coraline since she first saw a preview a few months ago. I thought it looked scary and weird, but Bailee LOVES weird. (I'd even venture to say she's a little weird herself, but aren't we all?)

We decided to make a date of it. I haven't done that in a long time with her one on one and it was so much fun! Without Jackson climbing all over me during the movie it was heaven. And we LOVED it. 3D is the way to go. Bailee gasped and laughed, and talked at full volume the whole time(maybe some whispering lessons are in order...) And was very pleasantly surprised when she realized that we actually get to KEEP those awesome glasses:)
With the exception of one part where I actually had to COVER HER EYES(seriously, in a kids movie, I was TO'd) it was very enjoyable. I was a little worried it would be too scary for her, but luckily she doesn't scare easy.

My poor picture taking skills manifest themselves once again. I didn't want to draw any more attention to myself in the darkened theater by trying for a re-do.

Insert Expletive Here

First, a statistic: 1 in 4 people who go to stupid trampoline places are seriously injured*

Yesterday, the four of us were having a grand time at this lovely establishment:
When suddenly, the unthinkable occurred. As Scott and I were racing each other across the trampolines, his fat butt threw me off balance and I went flying head first into the divider between two trampolines-a wooden beam covered with a piece of carpet(perfectly safe, right?)
A flash of light, and I lay semi-coherent across the expanse of trampolines. My first thought was for my head- it seemed fine. Then my wrist began to throb. Apparently it also collided with the beam.
It's after 5, so we head to Instacare. After a cursory exam and some x-rays, the verdict:
Not broken.

What? It feels like it's about to fall off, I'm not exaggerating.
The doctor goes on to explain. Even though it's not broken, apparently the ligaments have torn. So it's just a really bad sprain.

But wait- you can't wear a brace because your wrist needs to be able to move in order for the ligaments to heal properly.
And oh yeah, you're going to be in excruciating pain for 2-3 weeks.

But wait, you can wear a wrap on it as long as your wrist isn't immobilized(what's the point?)

And don't lift anything heavy or make any repetitive motions with your hand because that can damage it even more(two year olds aren't too heavy right?)

And if it still hurts after a few weeks, you might have to have surgery to repair the ligaments. But don't worry about that.

Oh yeah, one more thing: Make sure to put ice on that GIANT goose egg on your head at least 3 times a day or you might be stuck looking like you have a golf ball sticking out of your forehead for the rest of your life.
Did I mention it's my right wrist? I'm practically crippled now.

At least everyone else had fun. To quote Bailee: "This is the best day of my life!"
PS- these pictures were taken AFTER "the incident". Apparently when I take pictures with my left hand they turn out blurry.

*statistic based purely on my own observations, which are almost always correct
